The standard version is the top one with a solid socket, made entirely of a single piece of steel.

The bottom version with tang and ferrule is slightly lighter weight and costs less because it takes a long time to hammer the sockets on the standard version.

The head size varies in the range of 2 to 3 inches from the bend to the sharpened cutting edge.

Now, that's a Hoe, is the usual comment of someone picking up this beefy tool. The blade and shaft are forged from a single piece of square steel rod. This hoe weighs in at just under three pounds. It measures from 23-25-inches long. When you swing this hoe, it's like swinging an axe or hammer. It doesn't take much effort to drive it deep into the ground. The flared blade is sharpened across the bottom and up the sides. It clears a swath about 2-3" wide. This elegantly simple implement is a workhorse capable of the roughest ground breaking or weeding chores.

The size, shape, and weight of this item means we must charge an additional $8 shipping fee to our flat rate shipping rate to accommodate for the actual cost of shipping it.

INCREDIBLE HOE

Seth put this heavy duty hoe onto a 54" cotton hoe handle for me, and it is by far my favorite tool in the shed! I ordered it to remedy my clay-soil pasture of thistle and broomsedge, and I cannot explain how perfect this tool is for the job. I've dubbed it the "Thistle Missile" , as a single strike obliterates thistle down to the tap root. It also makes easy work of broomsedge. Amazing craftsmanship, I highly recommend this tool!

Mr.

bride got this for me after I spotted it in red pig. (we have a couple other tools he makes) I LOVE it. our totally lousy clay crap soil here is no match for this Viking slayer. I mean it. I have bent and broke crap tools in this soil. this tool will become an extension of you arm. buy it folks it works well and balance is so good. ps it has magical properties - it has disappeared on me and when finding it my wife had it in use . she loves it also. have to get her one of her own eh? thank you red pig tools. all of your stuff is 200% great.
